On our 4th anniversary journey, my husband and I decided to go vacation to our neighbor country, Malaysia. We intended to visit some historical state in Malaysia, one of them is the Malacca city.
Where is Malacca city?
Located in the southern part of Malaysia’s state, near the strait of Malacca, about 150km from the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Malacca has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, since then it is well-known as historical city.
How to get there?
Malacca has its own international airport, Batu Berendam International Airport, which is located in Batu Berendam 8.5km from Malacca city. However, this airport only serves limited destination such as Penang, Langkawi, and Pekanbaru. So it is a little bit difficult to reach this place by airplane.
Second choice is by bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) heading to Melaka Sentral. The bus terminal is linked with the Bandar Tasik Selatan railway station, so you can go by train or grab. The fare bus from TBS to Melaka Sentral is depend on the bus company you choose, more or less 15RM each person. The trip approximately about 3 or 4 hours also depends on the traffic.
Where to stay?
There are many hotels around Malacca city you can choose, from the luxurious until cheap or backpacker’s hotel. And they are relatively near from the city. I chose to stay at the hotel near Malacca River, called Aava Malacca Hotel. I booked the hotel from Traveloka apps and got discounted price, only about RM326 per night for two persons. At that time, we got additional tax charge RM10 and RM14 because of we stayed in the heritage hotel.
The hotel is clean and nice, also the interior is really impressive, they have different style of room interior.
I really recommend this hotel for you to stay, because it has back door which is connected to some alley along the Malacca River, and they have unique interior design, and it is not too pricey.
What to do?
Staying in the hotel near Malacca River gives you so many advantages, you can go around the city by walking.
As you can see, along the street are heritage building that formed the city. And it was really amazing to enjoy the trip.
So this is the part one of our trip in Malacca. Thank you for visiting my blog, kindly leave your comments and suggestions here. And stay tuned for the next part 😊
